Our standard
Shela Connect prohibits any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child. This standard applies to every user, group, post, reply, listing, image, link, and other interaction on the service.
Prohibited activity includes CSAM; grooming; sextortion; sexualization of minors; trafficking or solicitation of a child for sexual purposes; requests for sexual imagery; and attempts to arrange inappropriate sexual contact with a child.
How residents report
In the Shela Connect app, open the relevant community post, reply, or listing, select the report option, and choose "Child safety or sexual exploitation." Reports are private and sent to the Shela Connect moderation team.
You can also email the child safety contact at shelaconnectapp@gmail.com. Include the item title or link and a short explanation. Do not download, copy, forward, or attach suspected CSAM. If a child may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement first.
How we respond
We prioritize child-safety reports. When we obtain actual knowledge of suspected CSAM or CSAE, we review the report, promptly restrict or remove violating content, and may suspend or permanently terminate involved accounts. We preserve relevant information when lawful and necessary for an investigation.
Reporting to authorities
Shela Connect complies with applicable child-safety laws and regulations. We report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or the appropriate regional authority when required, and we cooperate with valid law enforcement requests.
Child safety contact
The designated Shela Connect Child Safety Contact receives notices about CSAE or CSAM and is responsible for coordinating review and enforcement. Contact: shelaconnectapp@gmail.com.
